Concept (Keep It Simple/ Straightforward), techniques covered in the program are kept to basic strike combinations and defensive postures that “flow” well together. He cites validated research that “Fine Motor Skills” tend to break down in non-static environments, “Gross Motor Skills” are relied upon to defend one self in most violent confrontations. He confers with the PPCT approach of teaching techniques. Techniques are designed around the “3 minute rule”, which means, that if individual cannot learn the basic mechanics of a technique in 3 minutes or less, in all likely hood, they will not be able to utilize the techniques under stress. The core
of the program is centered on Active Countermeasures (empty hand strikes,
head butts, knees and elbow strikes).
