Join us in celebrating a landmark event in the world of martial arts: the 70th Anniversary of Modern Arnis, the esteemed Filipino martial art founded by the legendary Remy Amador Presas. This momentous occasion is scheduled for the weekend of May 14th to 16th, 2027, and will be held at the prestigious Horizon Martial Arts in the Metro Buffalo area.
Buffalo, a place dearly loved by Professor Presas and often referred to as his “home away from home,” is a fitting location for this celebration. It’s here that he spent many weeks, engaging with the local community and reveling in the beauty of Niagara Falls and the Great Lakes. Moreover, Horizon Martial Arts is not only the headquarters of the World Modern Arnis Alliance but also the longest-running Modern Arnis school in the nation, and the only full-time school of its kind in North America during Professor Presas’ lifetime.
This event will be hosted by Datu Tim Hartman, the senior student of Professor Presas. Hartman is renowned not only for his exceptional martial arts skills but also for his legendary ability to host unique, high-quality martial arts events. Participants consistently praise the outstanding instruction, impeccable customer service, and the warm, family-friendly atmosphere at his events.
As we commemorate the 70th anniversary of Modern Arnis, we are committed to assembling the best possible team of instructors, led by Datu Hartman, to honor this historic milestone. Stay tuned for more details and updates.
