Remy Presas Memorial Camp
25 years later, we gather not just to remember – but to move his art forward.
On May 1st through 3rd, 2026, we will come together for something deeply meaningful – the final memorial camp honoring the late, great Professor Remy Amador Presas. This marks 25 years since his passing, and this weekend is about more than looking back. It’s about recognizing the journey, honoring the man, and accepting the responsibility of carrying his art into the future.
The camp will be held at the World Modern Arnis Headquarters, Horizon Martial Arts in Buffalo, New York – a place where Professor Presas’s spirit is still felt every day. This is a home for Modern Arnis, built on the lessons, relationships, and values he left behind.
You’ll have the opportunity to train with some of Professor Presas’s most senior students: Datu Tim Hartman, Punong Guro Tye Botting, Punong Guro Craig Mason, Masters Mike and Mae Williams, and others who were shaped directly by his teaching. Each brings their own voice, experience, and piece of the legacy, and together they will guide us in honoring Professor Presas the way he would have wanted – through honest training, shared knowledge, and community.
We are also honored to welcome a special guest, Kombatan Grand Master Thorbjørn Hartelius from Denmark, whose presence reminds us that Professor Presas’s influence reached far beyond borders and continues to unite practitioners around the world.
This is not just another seminar.
This is a moment to stand together, to reflect on where we came from, and to recommit ourselves to the future of Modern Arnis. It’s about remembering the past while making sure the art continues to grow, evolve, and live on in the next generation.
If Professor Presas ever touched your life – on the mat or off it – this weekend is for you.
Come train. Come remember. Come be part of the living legacy.
